Postal employees oppose setting up of IDCs
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: To protest against the Central Government’s decision of privatising the postal services, the postal employees, on Friday staged a demonstration, in front of the regional office to press their demands.
The demonstrators claimed that the government had not taken the staff into confidence before implementing the order of setting up Independent Delivery Centres (IDC). The decision is completely one-sided. The agitation was led by Devendra Pardeshi.
The postal agitators will conduct an awareness campaign in the city from February 18 and after that, a nationwide protest will be held at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on March 3. On Friday, to ensure the success of the demonstration, participants such as Vishal Vetal, Devendra Pardeshi, Anand Bohte, Mahadev Ilag, Sanjay Sonawane, Syed Taj Mohammed, Kamalsingh Jonwal, Sunil Jain, Ashok Late, and Samadhan Kale were present.
