Aurangabad, May 16:

Electricity disruption was reported in different parts of the city on Sunday evening because of the falling of tree branches, snaping of power wires in unseasonal rains accompanied by gusty winds.

The power failure was reported for 15 minutes in some areas while two to three hours in other areas. Employees of Mahaveetran ran here and there to restore the electricity.

An electricity wire was snapped at Bhanudasnagar while the feeder was reported trip at Sut Girni area due to rains. The residents of the areas had to live without electricity. The major cause of power disruption in various parts of the city was the falling of tree branches on supply lines.

The areas where power failure was reported included Shivajingar, Police Colony, Surananagar, Paithan Gate, Pannalalnagar, Harsul, Roshan Gate, Shahganj, Maliwada, City Chowk, Hiamayat Baugh area, Chanakyapuri, Katkat Gate area, Mayur Park, Aartinagar, Jadhavwadi, Cantonment, Railway Station, Baijipura, Chikalthan, Naregaon, Brijwadi.

Employees of the electricity companies were trying to restore the power supply in many areas.
