The model code of conduct for the grampanchayat elections has been implemented from December 11. The voting for the 618 grampanchayats in the district will be held on January 15, 2021 while the counting will be done on January 18, the district administration informed.

The election programme for the 618 grampanchayats, including 611 completing tenure in December, 2020, 7 grampanchayat whose tenure completed between April and December, 2020. The model code of conduct will be implemented in the district where the elections for more than 50 per cent or more grampanchayats will be held. Out of the 865 grampanchayat in the Aurangabad, elections for 618 grampanchayats will be held. Hence, the model code of conduct will be implemented in the entire Aurangabad district. The polling will be held on January 15 between 7.30 am and 5.30 pm and the counting will be done on January 18. The voters list came to existence on September 25 will be held eligible for this election. The voters lists will be published on December 14, informed the district collectors.
