Rwanda''s High Commissioner to India, Jacqueline Mukangira has assured that Maharashtra will be given special priority and encouragement in the fast growing bilateral trade due to the good relations between Rwanda and India.

She was speaking to the delegation of the Western Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Agro and Education, led by president Lalit Gandhi, at the Rwandan Embassy in New Delhi recently. Mukangira noted that Rwanda-India relations are very cordial. Rwanda needs products from almost all sectors such as furniture, daily necessities, agricultural processing products, food, electronics equipment, vehicles, technology, there are huge trade opportunities for producers and exporters in Maharashtra. Rwanda''s total imports of Rs 15,000 crore currently export goods worth Rs 1,000 crore from India. She appealed to investors in Maharashtra to take advantage of this as it is a great opportunity to increase exports from India. He also appealed to pay special attention to bilateral trade and tourism development. Gandhi assured that the chamber would extend all necessary cooperation and also sign an agreement with the Rwandan National Chamber to increase trade further.
