Aurangabad, Dec 31:

Zilla Parishad (ZP) chief executive officer Dr Mangesh Gondavale on Wednesday visited all the departments between 10:15 am and 11.30 am. He found 129 employees absent from duties during the visit and directed to issue a show-cause notice to the absentees.

ZP members had lodged complaints against the menace of absenteeism in all departments. ZP vice-chairman L G Gaikwad had demanded action in this regard. Taking note of the complaints, Dr Gondavale paid a surprise visit to the irrigation department, works department, social welfare, health, panchayat, animal husbandry, agriculture, education, water supply, mechanical, women and child welfare, finance and general administration departments. After going through the attendance register, he found 129 employees absent from duties. Later, Dr Gondavale called a meeting of the department heads and expressed displeasure over staff''s absence. He directed to issue show-cause notices to the absent employees.

61 absentees on Thursday

As per the instructions, the CEO''s personal assistant called for the attendance register and verified it at 10.30 am on Thursday. It was found that 61 employees were absent. Show cause notices were issued to those found absent.
