Stand by the artists from Marathwada, appeals poet F. M. Shinde

Marathwada is a rich reservoir of artistic talent, and art lovers should stand firmly behind artists from the region just as they do in Mumbai and Pune, appealed poet, prof. F. M. Shinde.

He was speaking at the valedictory and prize distribution ceremony of the 37th divisional Lalit Kala Mahotsav organised by the Marathwada Art Development Corporation, held on Tuesday at Tapadia Natya Mandir. Senior painter prof. Ashok Tambatkar presided over the function. Theatre artist prof. Maruti Karande, renowned lavani lyricist Anil Nivadange, corporation secretary Pralhad Shinde and vice-president Sangeeta Shinde were present.

Prof. Shinde praised the consistent efforts and initiatives of the corporation, stating that it has provided an important platform for students from Marathwada. Prof. Karande entertained the audience by imitating sounds of animals and birds. Neelakshi Rao presented a review of the organisation’s 37 years of work. On the occasion, artist students, headmasters and art teachers were felicitated at the hands of the guests.

Prof. Rajesh Nimbekar and Sanjay Jadhav worked as judges. The programme was compered by Swati Deshmukh, while adv Sandipraje Bhosale proposed the vote of thanks. The final round of competitions was held before the prize distribution, in which various teams gave impressive performances.

Winners

In the Lalit Kala Mahotsav, Sanskar Primary School won the Best Dada Kondke Trophy, while Ellora School secured the Vasant Kale Trophy. The Late Nanasaheb Shinde Trophy was won by Lal Bahadur Shastri School from Jalna district. In addition, Pratik Ahewad and Vaishnavi Gayake secured first place in duet dance, Bhagyashri Hiwale won first prize in solo dance, and Om Tathe was honoured in painting. Winners were presented with mementoes and certificates.
