Aurangabad, July 14:

Vaccination has started across the country. Weddings, markets, hotels, malls, liquor stores are open, but the government has put restrictions on Pandharpur Wari. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Deogiri province minister Anant Pandey alleged that the fundamental rights of Warkaris are being suppressed by the state government under covid rules.

Speaking at a press conference on the occasion of Pandharpur Ashadhi Wari, Janardan Mete Maharaj said that Pandharpur Wari has a tradition of 750 years. It is also the 360th Palkhi Sohala of Sant Tukaram Maharaj. At least 500 people should be allowed to walk with each palkhi. Only warkaris who have taken two doses of corona vaccine and who have RT-PCR negative should be allowed for the wari. He also demanded that the government can call in central force if they doubt that Warkaris will not follow restrictions. Anna Deshatwar, Janardan Maharaj, Ramdas Lahabar and Rajiv Jahagirdar were present.
