Aurangabad, Nov 25: Though Nitish Kumar has become the Chief Minister of Bihar, the real beneficiary is the BJP. The fact that people voted for the BJP despite adverse economic conditions and neglect of the workers during the lockdown will enhance party’s confidence. The BJP campaigning was such that Narendra Modi looked like a CM candidate. We can say that Modi has won not Nitish Kumar. However, when Modi fades from the political scenario due to old age, the party will find it challenging to sustain the tempo, said political analyst Bhausaheb Ajbe.

He was speaking on ''Interpretation of Bihar Election'' at a programme organized by Aurangabad Division office of the Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan (YCP), Mumbai, and MGM College of Journalism and Mass Communication on the occasion of the 36th death anniversary of late Yashwantrao Chavan, the architect of modern Maharashtra, here today. Ankushrao Kadam, President, Aurangabad Division, YCP presided. Prataprao Borade (Trustee, MGM), entrepreneur Sunil Kirdak and Dr Rekha Shelke were seated on the dais.

Ajbe opined that Tejashwi Yadav won compared to Nitish Kumar or Modi as far as giving a new direction to Bihar politics is concerned. In a sense, Tejashwi was the man of the match.

Ajbe further said that the 5 seats won by MIM have been not only because of 15 days of campaigning but also because of the work they have done during the floods. This victory could benefit them in the West Bengal elections. However, MIM''s victory is a matter of concern and a challenge for secular parties. Dr Sudhir Gavhane (vice-chancellor, MGM University), Jaydev Dole (Senior Analyst) and others were present. Suhas Tendulkar delivered the introductory speech. Mahesh Achintalwar anchored the programme and Shiv Kadam proposed a vote of thanks.

Special felicitation of Baiju Patil

Photographer Baiju Patil was felicitated by Ankushrao Kadam on behalf of YCP for receiving the Outstanding Photographer Award from the National Geographic.
