Thieves prefer kaju katli over gold; sweets worth ₹70,000 stolen after shop break-in

In an unusual burglary, thieves broke into a sweet shop at Gopal T Cricle and decamped with sweets worth nearly Rs 70,000, along with cash and a CCTV DVR.
The incident was reported at Vedantnagar police station on April 12. Notably, the shop, located on a main road, was targeted after the accused broke the lock and forced open the shutter. The shop, “Bikaner Bhujiyawala,” owned by Shubham Agrawal (32), was broken into around 2.34 am on April 12. The thieves entered the premises after breaking the lock and shutter and stole Rs 10,000 in cash, the DVR of the CCTV cameras, seven trays (5 kg each) of kaju mix sweets worth Rs 60,000, and 10 kg of mawa mix sweets valued at Rs 10,000. The theft came to light on Sunday morning. Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
