A week ago, a labour contractor was robbed by a gang of three in a deserted area in Waluj. The looters took the contractor''s two-wheeler, Rs 15,000 in cash and a mobile phone.

According to police, Bhausaheb Chandrakant Kale (40, Ranjangaon) works as a labour contractor in the industrial area. On December 19, Kale got drunk at Duttanagar Phata and went to pick up two labourers on his motorcycle (MH-20 FC-5918) from Ranjangaon Phata. Meanwhile, he was stopped by three youths who told him they needed petrol. Two youths forcibly put Kale on another two-wheeler and left towards Bajajnagar. An accomplice of the unidentified youths took Kale''s two-wheeler. They took Kale on the link road and beat him up. They also took out Rs 15,000 cash and mobile phone from him and fled the spot. Kale did not lodge a complaint with the police station. The next day, due to important work, Kale had gone to his native village in Paithan. After returning on Thursday, Kale lodged a complaint with the police. SI Chetan Ogle is conducting further investigation into the case.
