Aurangabad, Dec 25:

Pundaliknagar police have caught red-handed two thieves while stealing petrol from a motorcycle at Chhatrapatinagar in Garkheda vicinity on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. The police station has registered offence against Kiran Dhapke (resident of a locality near CADA office) and Krishna Lashkare (resident of Shivajinagar).

It so happened that the police team comprising PSI Prabhakar Sonawane, head constable Imran Attar and home guard Shaikh were patrolling in Garkheda vicinity on Thursday night. While they were passing through Chhatrapatinagar (situated behind Reliance Mall), they spotted two persons standing suspiciously at around 3.15 am. The duo started running when the police vehicle stopped near them. The cops chased and succeeded in arresting them.

The cops noticed that they were stealing petrol from a motorcycle. The duo was also carrying a plastic can with 10-12 litres of petrol stolen from different vehicles. On behalf of the government, the head constable Imran has complained about them at Pundaliknagar police station. The accused were put behind the bar.

The police produced these thieves in the court today morning, but they got released on bail. The police feel that the duo would be involved in stealing of petrol for the past many days. The cops also learnt that the duo works as labourers, but had taken hand loan from friends to enjoy the party. Hence they are stealing to repay the loan, they confessed.
