Aurangabad, Nov 30:

An audio clip appealing to vote for BJP Candidate Shirish Boralkar by MLA Rana Jagjitsingh was made viral from the forged number of MP Supriya Sule. An attempt was made to influence the Marathwada Graduate Constituency election. Hence, the Aurangabad City police’s cybercrime branch on Sunday registered a case against an unidentified person for influencing the MLC polls.

Crime Branch ACP Suresh Wankhede said, the elections for the Marathwada Graduate Constituency will be held on December 1. Several tricks are used to influence the elections. In such an attempt, messages were sent to general public from the mobile number on which MP Supriya Sule’s name was highlighted on the screen. A clip was made viral from this number in which MLA Rana Jagitsingh appealed the voters to vote for Shirish Boralkar.

The NCP official, Nitin Bagwe, on receiving information about this clip and such called immediately lodged a complaint at the cyber cell. PI, Geeta Bagwade is further investigating the case.
