Aurangabad, Nov 26:

The water supply of the old city has been disrupted for three days as the 700 mm size pipeline supplying water to it got damaged near SSC Board, today at 6.30 am. Hence, the citizens of the old city would be receiving water supply late from their previous schedule, said the water supply officials of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC).

Meanwhile, the water supply has been immediately stopped and it is said that it would take three days to repair the damage. Acting on the information, the AMC''s executive engineer Kiran Dhande and deputy engineer K M Phalak immediately stopped the supply of water through this pipeline in the morning. The pipeline is made of cement concrete and its life span and capacity to transport water has been ended. The AMC officials are helpless as they could not undertake the repair works immediately as the size of the pipeline is odd and it is not available in the city. Hence, the AMC officials have sent employees to Dhule to bring the ring and other materials. Till then the water supply through the 700 mm pipeline will remain closed.
