Water tank falls from moving tempo, couple on bike seriously injured

A negligently secured water tank on a tempo fell onto a couple riding a two-wheeler, striking their heads and chests and leaving them seriously injured. The accident occurred on the Tisgaon–Padgaon road at 6 pm on the 19th. The injured, Mathura Subhash Ganpure (65, Satara area) and her husband, were traveling on a moped. At that time, a tempo carrying a water tank was passing by. As the tempo passed close to the couple, one tank fell directly onto Mathura and her husband, causing both to crash onto the road and sustain serious injuries. Locals rushed them to the hospital. The tempo driver fled the scene. After the couple’s condition improved, based on Mathura’s statement, Chavani police filed a case on January 21 against the absconding driver (MH-28-BB-1204).
