Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
The scientist who developed the vaccine to eradicate the coronavirus from the world deserves recognition. During the pandemic, all places of worship were closed yet, whom did people thank after recovering from COVID-19? Social reformer Jyotirao Phule had criticised such thinking and advocated a scientific and humanitarian outlook, said founder-president of Guru Ravidas Satyashodhak Samaj (Nagpur), Dr P. S. Changole.
He was speaking at a lecture on “The Contribution of Jyotirao Phule and B. R. Ambedkar in Nation Building,” organised on Sunday at the Bajaj Teaching Complex of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on the occasion of their birth anniversaries. The programme was chaired by dean Dr Shivaji Sukre. Special officer of the Government Cancer Hospital Dr Arvind Gaikwad, deputy dean Dr Prabha Khaire, Dr Bharat Sonawane, Dr M. B. Lingayat, Dr Prasad Deshpande, Dr Avinash Lamb, Dr Radheya Khetre, Dr Anil Dhule, Dr Tapan Jakkal, matron Sanjeevani Gaikwad, DAMA president Dr Sameeksha Kamble, vice-president Dr Nishant Kharat, and secretary Dr Aditya Isave were present on the dais.
Promote humanitarian values
Dr P. S. Changole said that the Indian Constitution emphasises that every citizen should develop a scientific temper and a sense of humanism, and that this principle must be implemented in practice.
