Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

A woman was harassed, and her husband and son were assaulted after she refused to give a water bottle to an intoxicated man on Sunday afternoon. The accused, Yogesh Chindhe, along with three others, also vandalized their motorcycle. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.

A year ago, Chindhe had installed a police siren on his vehicle and frequently used it at night. The victim's husband objected to the noise, leading to an altercation where Chindhe verbally abused him, threatened him, and shattered the windows of his car.

On March 16 at around 12.15 am, a drunken Chindhe arrived at the victim’s residence, banged on their shop's shutter, and shouted abuses. He demanded they step outside, declaring, "I will teach you a lesson today!" The couple, seeing him with two or three men, chose to stay inside. Chindhe and his associates left but returned at 1.30 pm when the woman was alone.

Assault and vandalism

Chindhe entered the shop and demanded water. When the woman refused, he hurled abuses, grabbed her hand, and attempted an indecent act. She resisted and called for help. Enraged, Chindhe vandalized their parked motorcycle. As her husband and son rushed to the scene, Chindhe’s accomplices Ramesh Ghuge, Govinda Chavan, and Babasaheb Girbone stepped out of their vehicle and attacked them, kicking and punching them while issuing death threats.

A case has been registered at the MIDC Waluj Police Station, and authorities are investigating. The accused remain at large.

1)A year ago, the accused repeatedly sounded a siren. When questioned about it, he verbally abused the victim and broke the windows of a four-wheeler, causing damage.

2)With ill intentions, he grabbed the victim's hand and pulled her close, attempting an act that could cause embarrassment. The victim managed to free herself and called out to her husband and child, who were in a nearby alley. In response, Yogesh Chinde vandalized their two-wheeler and attempted to create an atmosphere of fear.
