Aurangabad, Nov 5:

The passengers will soon be relieved from climbing stairs at Aurangabad railway station as work to install an escalator and a lift on platform no four is underway. Now all platforms at the railway station are equipped with this facility.

There is an escalator installed for the convenience of passengers on platforms 1, 2 and 3 at the new building, while the old building has a lift on platforms 1-3. Now, this facility is also being provided on platform number 4. Therefore, passengers alighting on platforms 4 and 5 will not have to climb stairs to exit the railway station. This facility will especially benefit the disabled, senior citizens and tourists. Work of laying concrete topping on platform no four was undertaken in 2019. The platform was excavated four months after work began. The work of the platform has finally been completed. Now the installation of the escalator is underway. An iron column is being installed for the escalator at the end of the staircase. The work will be completed in the next few months, railway officials said.

Staircase renovated

The condition of the stairs in the old building of the railway station had deteriorated in the last few years. The iron bars of the steps were visible. This caused inconvenience to the passengers. This staircase is also being renovated.
