Write a letter to a friend; win Rs 50,000

The Indian Postal Department has announced an International Letter Writing Competition to promote letter-writing and emphasise the value of human relationships in the digital age. Students aged 9 to 15 years can participate.

Topic: Write a letter to your friend on the importance of human relationships in the digital world. Participants must write about 800 words in English, Hindi, Urdu, or Marathi. The competition will be held on March 8, and application forms must be submitted to respective schools by February 20. Students must attach three passport-size photographs and a copy of their school ID or Aadhaar card. Entries in English or Hindi must be certified by the school principal.

Prizes National Level – Rs 50,000 (First), Rs 25,000 (Second), Rs 10,000 (Third).

Circle Level – Rs 25,000 (First), Rs 10,000 (Second), Rs 5,000 (Third).

Last year, Maharashtra Circle winners received cash prizes. G. Hariprasad, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, appealed for maximum participation and advised students to contact their schools for details.
