India National Cricket Team vs England Cricket Team Match Scorecard: Pacer Gus Atkinson took five wickets as India were bowled out for 224 in their first innings on the second morning of the fifth and final Test against England at The Oval. India, who resumed the day at 204 for six, collapsed in the first hour of play. Overnight batters Karun Nair and Washington Sundar were dismissed within the first 20 minutes. Nair added just five runs to his overnight score of 52 before falling for 57. Sundar was out for 26. The Indian tail failed to resist the English attack and the innings ended in 69.4 overs.
Atkinson finished with impressive figures of 5 for 33 in 21.4 overs, including eight maidens. Josh Tongue supported well with 3 for 57. The two fast bowlers led the charge in the absence of Chris Woakes, who was injured on the first day.

Earlier on Day 1, India lost captain Shubman Gill for 21 due to a runout after play resumed following rain delays. Gill became India’s highest run-scorer in a single Test series, surpassing Sunil Gavaskar’s record of 732 runs. India also lost Yashasvi Jaiswal (2) and KL Rahul (14) in the morning session on Day 1. Jaiswal was trapped lbw by Atkinson and Rahul was dismissed by Chris Woakes, who suffered a shoulder injury during the match and is expected to miss the rest of the Test.
On Day 1, Sai Sudharsan scored 38 runs before being dismissed by Tongue. Ravindra Jadeja made 9 runs. Both were removed by Tongue, who bowled with seam movement.
