A tense moment took place during the ninth match of IPL 2025 between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans. MI captain Hardik Pandya and GT spinner R Sai Kishore were involved in a heated staredown. The incident happened in the 15th over of Mumbai’s chase at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday. Kishore had already bowled two dot balls to Hardik before conceding a boundary on the third delivery. On the fourth ball, which was another dot, Kishore stared at Hardik with intensity. Hardik looked frustrated and shouted "F*** off" in response. He then walked toward Kishore in an aggressive manner. The GT bowler did not step back and continued staring. Umpires and players from both teams stepped in to stop the situation from getting worse. The moment spread quickly on social media.
However, Gujarat Titans secured their first win of the season with a 36-run victory over Mumbai Indians. GT batted first and scored 196 for 8. Sai Sudharsan was the top scorer with 63 runs from 41 balls. Captain Shubman Gill made 38 runs, while Jos Buttler added 39. Mumbai Indians slowed the scoring in the final overs, but GT’s total was too high to chase. Mumbai struggled against GT’s pace attack. Mohammed Siraj dismissed Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton early. Prasidh Krishna controlled the middle overs and took two wickets for 18 runs. R Sai Kishore and Kagiso Rabada took one wicket each and kept the pressure on MI. Suryakumar Yadav scored 48 from 28 balls, but the required run rate kept increasing. Tilak Varma made 39 runs from 36 balls. Hardik Pandya walked in during the 13th over but could only score 11 runs from 17 deliveries.
