The second T20 between India and Bangladesh slated to be held in Rajkot is under the weather scanner as heavy rains threaten to play spoilsport. According to the Indian Metrological Department Severe Cyclonic Storm 'Maha' is likely to cross between Dwarka and Diu on Thursday, a day before the match.

Further, the Met Center at Ahmedabad Gujarat has placed an Orange level high alert for Rajkot district on Wednesday which indicates very heavy rainfall. Speaking to the Times of India, Groundsman Mansukhbhai Terraiya said the entire ground will remain covered until the match due to high possibility of rainfall. But while it is a high-scoring ground, heavy rains might make the outfield slow, effectively making boundaries harder to hit.

Himanshu Shah, secretary of the SCA, added that even if Rajkot experiences light rains on the morning of match-day, the game will be played as long as it isn’t interrupted with evening showers. The playing conditions so far in the series has been less conducive for both the teams as Delhi was engulfed with high level of air pollution. The poor playing conditions took toll on the players as some of the players vomited on the field.
