After much speculation Ravichandran Ashwin's much anticipated move to Delhi Capitals has finally got the nod. In what can be termed as a lucrative deal, DC has offered Kings XI Punjab an additional sum of INR 1.5 crores including the services of left - arm spinner J Suchith.  Ashiwn who was in prolific form in the recently concluded test series against SA will get INR 7.6 crores, his auction value from the IPL 2018 auction.

Ashwin who led the Punjab team for two seasons has been among the top performers in the IPL since making his debut in 2009. Speaking about the deal, Kings XI co - owner Ness Wadia said, "Everyone is happy with this deal. We are happy, Ashwin is happy and Delhi is happy. We were in talks with three teams but have finally come to this conclusion. We wish Ashwin the very best,"

Ashwin's move to the Delhi has further bolstered the Indian bench strength of the Capitals who already have Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, and Ishant Sharma in their ranks. Meanwhile, the name of KL Rahul is doing the rounds as the next skipper for Kings XI Punjab. The Punjab team recently named Anil Kumble as their head coach and is one of the few teams apart from DC and RCB who are yet to win the IPL.
