Actor Sanjay Mishra Heaps Big Praise on Babil, Calls Him a Young Irrfan Khan
One of Indian film industry’s most respected and iconic actors, Sanjay Mishra recently spoke high praises of Babil Khan during a chat show while promoting their recently released film Vadh 2. When the conversation turned to Babil as it came along in the chat, Mishra made a comparison that stood out and gave a huge praise to the young actor comparing him to his late legendary father, Irrfan Khan.
Speaking on the show, Sanjay Mishra said, “Bada cute lagta Hain yaar. Kabhi Kabar lagta Hain young Irrfan Bhai, NSD wale”. The comment carries weight, coming from an actor with Mishra’s experience. Irrfan Khan remains one of the most respected actors India has produced, and his early years at the National School of Drama are often remembered for the sincerity and depth he brought to his work.

Irrfan Khan passed away on April 29, 2020, at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital after a brave fight against neuroendocrine tumour. Irrfan’s son Babil Khan made his acting debut in 2022 with the Netflix film ‘Qala’. He went on to star in Friday Night Plan, The Railway Men, and Logout.
On the work front, Sanjay Mishra was last seen in Vadh 2 starring Neena Gupta which released last week. The cast also includes Kumud Mishra, Shilpa Shukla, and newcomers Amit K Singh, Akshay Dogra, and Yogita Bihani. The film had its international premiere on November 23, 2025, at India’s 56th International Film Festival (IFFI). The film premiered in theatres on February 6. Meanwhile, Netflix appears to have purchased the film’s digital streaming rights following its theatrical release. Vadh 2 is a spiritual sequel to the highly acclaimed film Vadh, which was universally praised for its gripping tale and powerful performances.
