Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 3: Sunny Deol’s War Drama Enters Rs 100 Crore League, Beats Dhurandhar Opening Weekend
Border 2, the much-anticipated follow-up to the 1997 hit Border, has made a thunderous start at the box office, rewriting opening weekend records. The film crossed the Rs 100 crore mark within three days of its release, backed by a sharp surge in daily earnings. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the war drama collected Rs 30 crore on Friday, followed by Rs 36.5 crore on Saturday, before witnessing a massive jump to Rs 54.5 crore on Sunday. With total domestic earnings of Rs 121 crore in its first weekend, the film has firmly established itself as one of 2026’s biggest openers so far.
With its impressive Rs 121 crore weekend total, Border 2 has emerged as Sunny Deol’s second highest-grossing film to date, comfortably beating the opening three-day figures of Jaat, which had earned Rs 88.72 crore. The film has also moved ahead of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar, which had reported Rs 103 crore in its first weekend, according to Sacnilk. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh attributed the strong performance to exceptional audience feedback, noting robust growth on Saturday and extraordinary turnout in mass circuits, while urban centres, including Mumbai suburbs, showed marked improvement after a steady Friday.
