Completing 100 Episodes Feels Truly Special: Smita Sinkar on Jagadhatri

Smita Sinkar, who plays the role of Uma in Rahul Kumar Tewary's Jagadhatri, is over the moon as the show has completed 100 episodes. She said, "It’s all thanks to the audience who accepted us, especially because 10:00 pm is such a crucial slot to choose. Completing 100 episodes—woohoo—feels truly special!"  "Personally, it has been a very smooth journey filled with creative twists and turns in my character. I feel genuinely grateful and blessed to have been part of this beautiful ride," she added.

Over the course of the 100 episodes, she mentioned that her character has evolved too. "She was once the family’s moral center—loving and unquestioned. Then suddenly, a darker shade surfaced, unsettling everyone around her. Is she manipulative or fiercely protective? The truth remains blurred, and that uncertainty is actually her real power."  "Playing these contradictions has been thrilling, and I’ve enjoyed every bit of it. The flashback track, in particular, was both challenging and extremely rewarding to portray because it required emotional depth and subtle shifts in performance," she added.

The audience’s love has been constant and strong, and she feels that the audience connects with the diversity the show brings. She said, "Jagadhatri means 'the one who holds the universe together,' and in the show too, Sonakshi does exactly that. Her character ranges from being a loving, caring daughter, sister, and granddaughter to a dashing cop who becomes a savior of the world."

"Audiences also love the diverse personalities across both families. There are so many characters that everyone watching finds someone they can connect with on a personal level," she added.

Daily shows often turn into extended families, and the actress feels blessed to be doing two shows with the production house. She said, "The people behind the camera work even harder to keep the ship sailing. When the production is strong and supportive, the cast automatically feels comfortable and happy."

"Our off-camera chemistry is wonderful—we're all experienced artists who have a lot of fun together, yet we can instantly switch moods according to the demands of the scene," she added.

She went on to say that working with the producer Rahul Kumar Tewary has been extremely reassuring. "He is one of the most loving and accommodating producers I have come across. He has a very clear vision of the world he wants to create, and that clarity gives us a solid foundation to build our characters. His creative direction encourages honesty rather than over-dramatization. He trusts his actors, and that trust motivates you to dig deeper and bring more authenticity to your performance," Smita ended.
