Filmmaker and actor, Farhan Akhtar has joined the list of celebrities who have now received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Taking to Twitter, the actor updated his fans and also thanked BMC for their service. “Got my first jab today via drive through at Andheri sports complex. Thank you to @mybmc & @MumbaiPolice for the streamlined system”. He also added, “To those waiting their turn, the process does take 2-3 hours (for now) so please be patient. Carry water & a snack, if need be. Stay safe” Farhan is one of the active celebs who has been doing his bit for the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier, the Toofan star, took to his social media to share a concise list of NGOs Excel Entertainment has provided with donations. 

He wrote, "Sharing a list of organizations that @excelmovies has donated to thus far, in the fight against COVID-19. From oxygen to ambulances to food, they are doing some incredible work on the ground. Encourage you to do your bit to help. Every rupee matters. Jai Hind. ???????? @ritesh_sid." On the work front, the actor will be next seen in Toofan. Earlier this year it was announced that Farhan Akhtar starrer Toofaan is all set to release on May 21 on Amazon Prime Video skipping its theatrical release. The release date was announced before the second wave of COVID-19 took over the country. Now, with the country facing the worst of the pandemic, Excel Entertainment has decided to postpone the release of the film. Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, the film also stars Mrunal Thakur. This is the second sports based film that Mehra and Akhtar are collaborating on. The two had last worked together in the 2013 hit film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag which was based on the life of Milkha Singh. Toofan also stars Paresh Rawal and Isha Talwar.
