After Kangana Ranaut, actress Sherlyn Chopra has also attacked Deepika for her slogan, 'Repeat after me: Depression is not an illness'. Chopra posted a video on her handle and asked Deepika to change her ‘repeat after me’ slogan that she made popular while promoting the cause of mental health. Referring to her social media posts from June, Chopra said, “Deepika said ‘Depression is an illness’. So can we assume that the depression she is talking about, is related to drug abuse?” She went on to claim “Global research says that 90% of depression cases are related to drug abuse. Not every depression case, but 90%. So I think that Deepika Padukone should change her slogan or update it.”

Sherlyn even suggested some new slogans like “Repeat after me: Narcotics indulgence is a criminal offence. Repeat after me: Narco-terrorism is illegal. Repeat after me: Drug abuse is unsafe, especially for the youth of the nation. Repeat after me: Drug abuse leads to depression. Repeat after me: I will not engage in drug abuse.”She ended her video saying, “Repeat after me: Depression is not an illness.” Deepika Padukone's 2017 chats with her manager Karishma, related to procuring drugs have brought her under the radar of NCB. According to reports, She along with Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh and some other Bollywood A-listers have been issued summons  by the agency who is probing the drug link angle in Sushant Singh Rajput death case.
