Janhvi's Kapoor's Gunjan Saxena  is one of the most eagerly awaited films of the year and after the trailer was released a few days ago, the Dhadak star's acting received a lot of praise from the audience. While the film has been co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, their name was nowhere to be seen in the latest poster and the trailer. This was quite surprising as the old poster clearly said ‘A Dharma Productions Film’.

According to reports, this new development could be a result of the nepotism debate, which came into the limelight once again after late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely demise. KJo has been under the radar of netizens ever since and is constantly being trolled. Moreover, after the Kedarnath actor's death Karan has been keeping a low profile due to the negative comments he received on social media. Even the CEO of Dharma films Apurva Mehta was questioned by the Mumbai Police in connection with Rajput's death.

Directed by Sharan Sharma, the biographical film follows the real life story of Indian Air Force pilot Gunjan Saxena, the first Indian female air-force pilot in combat. While Janhvi will be seen in the titular role, Pankaj Tripathi will portray the character of his on-screen father and Angad Bedi will be seen as Gunjan's brother. The film is all set to premiere on Netflix on 12th August.
