Kartik Aaryan who refrained from using social media after the Pyar Ka Punchnama star was accused of unprofessional behaviour  by makers of Dostana 2 has finally managed to break his silence on social media. The young actor shared a a black-and-white picture of himself sporting long hair and wearing a mask. This is his first post on social media since the Dostana 2 recasting controversy of last week. For the unversed, Kartik was sacked from the Colin D'Cunha directorial after shooting for almost two years. 

Without confirming or denying the speculation, Dharma Productions put out a statement saying that they will be recasting the film. “Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain a dignified silence - we will be recasting Dostana 2, directed by Collin D’Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon,” it read. On the wake of the recent development, Kangana Ranaut came out out in support of the Kartik. The Queen actor urged Kartik not to be 'scared' of Karan Johar amid Dostana 2 recasting. Dostana 2 was supposed to star Kartik alongside Janhvi Kapoor and debutant Lakshya. The first schedule of the film began shooting in 2019 but was stalled owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.Kartik Aaryan rose to fame with 2011 film Pyaar Ka Punchnama and later featured in films such as Luka Chupppi, Pati Patni Aur Woh and Love Aaj Kal. His upcoming films are Dhamaka and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
