Taapsee Pannu will play the lead role in the Hindi adaptation of German cult classic Run Lola Run. The film which has been titled, Loop Lapeta will be helmed by ad filmmaker Aakash Bhatia with actor Tahir Raj Bhasin essaying the role of Taapsee's boyfriend. The announcement about the film, was made by the actress on her Instagram page. Run Lola Run was Germany’s entry for the Oscars in the Best Foreign Language category in 1999. Even though it missed the Oscars, the film won at the Toronto International Film Festival, and got the audience vote at the Sundance Film Festival.

'Looop Lapeta' will be produced by Sony Pictures Films India, Ellipsis Entertainment and Aayush Maheshwari.The film will go on the floors in April 2020 and is scheduled to release on January 29, 2021. The Mission Mangal actress, has an interesting collection of films in the pipeline for 2020. The actress will next be seen in Thappad, Shabaash Mithu, Rashmi Rocket, and Haseen Dilruba to name a few. While Thappad narrates the story of a wife's struggle against domestic violence, Shabaash Mithu is an upcoming biopic on the captain of the Indian Women's Cricket team Mithali Raj. Directed by Rahul Dholakia.
