Vicky Kaushal Recalls Intense 'Chhaava' Shoot During Ramzan, says "Stuntmen Were Fasting in Extreme Heat"

Vicky Kaushal's remarkable performance as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in the film Chhaava has deeply resonated with audiences, receiving widespread praise and contributing to the film's significant box office success. Released on February 14, this historical epic has earned an impressive Rs 627 crores, making it one of the highest-grossing films of the year.

As behind-the-scenes clips from the film gained popularity, Vicky Kaushal shared an inspiring story from the set. Filming began in October 2023, with many key battle scenes shot during the Ramadan season. Vicky highlighted the dedication of the stuntmen, who fasted while performing intense action sequences in extreme heat.

"It was incredibly hot, yet some stuntmen chose to fast during the action scenes. We trained for months before filming. In Vai, we shot with 2,000 people including 500 stuntmen under the sun," Vicky shared. He praised the relentless commitment of the stuntmen, emphasizing that their hard work brought authenticity to the film's dramatic battle scenes.

Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava tells the story of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the courageous son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film features a talented cast, including Rashmika Mandanna as Maharani Yesubai, alongside Akshay Khanna, Vineet Kumar Singh, Santosh Juvekar, Sarang Satye, and Suvrat Joshi in important roles.
