“Yami Gautam is a Gifted Actress,” says Retired Lt Col Keshvendra Singh who Trained her for Article 370

The hard hitting political drama, Article 370 completed one year of its release recently. In a post shared on instagram, Yami Gautam says that the film was much more than just a film, it was a story that needed to be told. Article 370 was truly a landmark film in Yami’s career. 

Celebrating the one year anniversary of the film Yami posted, Rarely does a film come along with a story so powerful, so unbelievable, yet so real, that being a part of it feels like a privilege. #Article370 is more than just a film—it’s a story that needed to be told, and I am truly honored to have played a part in it. This is a film the country will remember. 🇮🇳✨

Commenting on the post, retired Lt. Col Keshvendra Singh who also trained the actress for her character in the film wrote, “This movie will always be close to my heart. As a military and special ops advisor I had the privilege of working with a great team. Yami Gautam is a gifted actor . She is intelligent and hardworking. I hope others get inspired by her and strive for excellence. My sincere appreciation to Yami Gautam in believing in me.”

Yami was quick to respond to the comment, she said, “I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish my journey of Article 370 without your able trianing & constant guidance, sir 🙏🏻 It was once in a lifetime opportunity for me & can’t thank you enough 🙏🏻 🇮🇳

Yami played Zooni Haksar, an Indian military officer who is embroiled in the political turmoil surrounding her. She brings a nuanced and empathetic character of a woman whose life is shaped by the social-political landscape of Kashmir, capturing the journey of hope and strength amidst the tragedy.

Yami was also nominated at the IIFA in the best actor category for her performance in Article 370. She received several accolades and critical acclaim for her role in the film.

Article 370 was truly a landmark film in Bollywood and also for  Yami’s illustrious career. Yami has been on a roll with her choice of films and roles. With every movie, Yami’s ability to pick characters that are impactful and prominent is on full display.
