Panama City Bridge Fire: Four Injured, One Missing After Fuel Tanker Truck Explodes on Canal Bridge
At least four people were injured and one was missing, after a fuel tanker truck exploded, resulting in a huge fire at the Pacific entrance to the Panama Canal on Monday, April 7. Video shared on social media shows a large fireball rising from the bridge as vehicles pass nearby.
The incident is reported to have occurred at around 4.12 pm (US local time) in the La Boca area of Balboa, on the west side of Panama City. After receiving the information, firefighters and the rescue team rushed to the spot. According to police, three tankers caught fire.

Two people who suffered second-degree burns were rescued from the scene and received first aid from the firefighters and rescue team. Two firefighters also suffered first- and second-degree burns and were taken to a hospital.
Authorities are searching for a person who may have been trapped in the affected area. At least five fire brigade vehicles are working to douse the blaze. . Officials later said the fire had been contained.
