Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra has made a demand to the Maharashtra government. Mahindra in his recent tweet urged the state government to speed up the vaccination drive.

Mahindra made the request on its Twitter account. The number of corona patients in the state has been increasing significantly over the last few days. "Over half the new daily cases are in Maharashtra. The state is the nerve-centre of the country’s economic activity & more lockdowns will be debilitating. Maharashtra needs emergency permission to vaccinate EVERY willing person. No shortage of vaccines," he tweeted.

He further aid the state authorities need to speed up the vaccination rate or else it will suffer second, third and fourth covid waves.

India on Wednesday logged 28,903 new Covid-19 cases and 188 fatalities in the last 24 hours, with five states driving up the daily cases. Maharashtra alone accounts for 61.8 per cent of the daily new cases with 17,864 cases.
