Often we have heard that the world of those working in the film industry is colorful and happy. But you will be surprised to know that the life of an art director who received an award like Dadasaheb Phalke is facing hardship.

Art director Liladhar Sawant has been living with his wife for the last 10 years in Jaulka village of Washim district of Maharashtra. Pushpa Sawant, wife of Dadasaheb Phalke recipient & Art Director for 25 years in film industry, Liladhar Sawant claims they are facing hardship

Liladhar Sawant used to make stage in films. He has done art direction in a total of 177 films like Sagar, Hatya, 110 Days, Deewana, Had Kar Di Apne. He has been awarded the highest award of the film world, Dadasaheb Phalke, Filmfare Award, Manikchand Awards.

His wife Pushpa told that due to his bypass surgery and 2 brain hemorrhages, their entire savings went into Liladhar's treatment."I request all the actors with whom he has worked to help him. He had undergone 2 bypass surgeries & 2 brain hemorrhages," said Pushpa Sawant.    

Liladhar's wife told that Govinda was recommended by her husband Liladhar to Kirti Kumar, director of 'Hatya', to get Govinda to work in the film.

Pushpa told that there was a good phase that passed. At present, the Sawant couple is surviving on the rent that they get from their tenant living in their house. Pushpa has urged those who knew and loved Liladhar Sawant to come forward for help. Art director Sawant has a daughter who is married, also had a son, but he died of cancer after a few months of marriage.
