Kalyan: Surendra Patil Arrested with 7 Revolvers, 371 Cartridges in Dombivli

Surendra Chaudhary alias Patil, a resident of the Thakurli Cholegaon area, has been arrested by police for illegal possession of weapons. He was found with seven revolvers, 371 live cartridges and 167 air gun pellets. He is also known for posting videos portraying himself as a gangster. Several cases, including rape, have been registered against him.

Surendra Patil had previously been jailed in connection with a crime. After being released on bail, the Thane Crime Branch and Manpada Police jointly took action against him again. A large cache of unlicensed weapons was recovered from his house. During a raid at his bungalow, police seized seven revolvers, 371 live cartridges, a sword and a chopper.

According to police sources, the Crime Branch conducted a raid at Patil’s bungalow in Davdi late on Saturday night (March 28). During the search, police discovered a concealed compartment inside a shoe rack, which was not easily visible. From this hidden space, officers recovered revolvers, live cartridges and air gun pellets.

Police also found swords, knives, machetes and other sharp weapons at his residence. The total value of the seized weapons is estimated to be around Rs 10 lakh. Five of the revolvers are locally made, while some bore markings such as “Made in USA” and “Special Auto”.

Patil, who is associated with the construction business, is known for making social media reels. He had previously filmed videos sitting on a police officer’s chair and posing with firearms and large amounts of cash.

In October 2023, he created reels inside the Manpada police station while visiting as a complainant in a fraud case. He recorded the videos while sitting on a police officer’s chair when no one was present, which led to his arrest at the time. Several cases have been registered against him, including a rape case. In 2023, he was externed from the Thane district for one year.
