Maharashtra Heatwave: IMD Issues Warning for Six Cities, Including Mumbai, Ahead of Holi 2025

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a severe heat wave warning for six cities in Maharashtra ahead of Holi. The temperature in Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, and Palghar will be rising in the next four days.

A Yellow Alert was issued by IMD for Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, and Ratnagiri by IMD from March 7 to 10 as the temperatures are expected to rise. Additionally, Sindhudurg and Palghar are expected to witness a humid climate and hot weather. 

The IMD has provided specific forecasts for all the above-mentioned cities. On March 7, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Mumbai Suburbs, and Sindhudurg will see a massive increase in temperature. On March 8, Thane, Raigad, and Ratnagiri will experience unusual heat. On March 9, the temperature of Sindhudurg and Palghar is expected to soar. Sindhudurg is expected to experience soaring heat on March 10.

IMD also said that Mumbai Suburbs, Thane, Raigad, and Ratnagiri might have to deal with a heatwave on March 9. On March 10, Palghar might experience a heatwave too, it said.

Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and Navi Mumbai will record 36 to 38 degree celsius temperatures over the next five days.
