A tragic incident occurred on Thursday (March 20) in Paithan city’s Rangarhati area, where two young Warkari students from a local monastery drowned in the Godavari River. According to reports, four students had gone to the river for a bath in the afternoon. Unaware of the water level, all four began to drown. Fortunately, other Warkari students present at the scene managed to rescue two of them. However, two boys Chaityan Ankush Badar (13) and Bholenath Kailas Pawale (10) were swept away.

The police recovered the body of Chaityan Ankush Badar, a resident of Walsa Khalsa, Bhokardan taluka, Jalna district. Meanwhile, the search for Bholenath Kailas Pawale, a resident of Chitegaon, Paithan, is ongoing.

Due to darkness, the search operation has been temporarily halted and will resume in the morning, according to Police Inspector Sanjay Deshmukh. Upon receiving news of the incident, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Dr. Siddheshwar Bhore visited the site for inspection. Assistant Police Inspector Dashrath Burkul is leading the investigation.

Authorities are urging caution in the area, emphasizing the importance of awareness regarding fluctuating water levels in natural water bodies.
