In a shocking incident, a tourist boat drown at Tarkarli beach in Malvan in Sindhudurg district. While returning from scuba diving with 20 tourists, the boat sank when it came close to the shore. Two died in the accident and one is in critical condition. The boat is owned by Jay Gajanan.

 The boat capsized a short distance from the shore. After the boat capsized, relief work began to save the tourists. Two died before they were all pulled out of the sea. The deceased have been identified as Akash Deshmukh (resident of Akola) and Swapnil Pise (resident of Pune). Two were seriously injured. The injured are being treated at Malvan Rural Hospital. It is understood that all the tourists in the boat are from Pune and Mumbai. It is unknown at this time what caused the boat to capsize. Tarkarli beach is famous for scuba diving and water sports. Due to this accident, there is an atmosphere of fear among the tourists who are currently visiting the beach in Tarkarli.

The accident has been taken seriously by the local administration. The boat driver and owner have been ordered to take immediate action. It is being investigated what was the passenger capacity of the boat, whether the tourists were given life jackets at the time of the accident. Police and the Collector had rushed to the spot.
