Watch: Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing at School Ground in Palghar After Mid-Air Technical Fault

A helicopter made an emergency landing in the open ground of a school on Kelve Road in Palghar district of Maharashtra on Tuesday, February 10, after developing a technical snag in mid-air after taking off. The chopper took off from Juhu in Mumbai to Surat.

The incident occurred in the Kelve Road area, where the pilot safely brought the helicopter down in the open ground of Vidya Vaibhav High School, preventing a major mishap. People in the area gathered at the spot after seeing the aircraft land and alerted the police.

A video recorded by an eyewitness, which is now going viral on the internet, shows a helicopter approaching the open ground with a loud noise where school students can be seen cheering with ejoye seeing such unusual scenes. Dust was spread on the school premises during the landing.

The helicopter had departed Juhu for a training session in Surat. While flying between Kelve Road and Saphale in Palghar district, the pilot received a warning of a technical fault. He immediately located an open field and carried out a precautionary landing.

Saphale police reached the location and assisted the pilot and engineer. The technical team was later contacted, and the fault was repaired. For safety reasons, the helicopter did not continue to Surat and instead returned to its base in Juhu. Four people were on board, including a senior pilot, a junior pilot, an engineer and another passenger. No injuries were reported.
