Ajit Pawar Plane Crash: Rohit Pawar Files Complaint at Marine Drive Police Station; Case Transferred to CID

MLA Rohit Rajendra Pawar on Wednesday filed a written complaint at the Marine Drive Police Station seeking a detailed investigation into the plane crash that claimed the life of Ajit Pawar.

Following the incident, an Accidental Death Report (ADR) was registered on January 28, 2026, at Baramati Taluka Police Station. The further investigation into the case is currently being conducted by the State Crime Investigation Department (CID), Maharashtra State, Pune.

MLA Amol Mitkari was also present along with Rohit Pawar at the time of filing the complaint. Both legislators alleged negligence in connection with the aircraft accident and demanded action against the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). In the complaint, they have also sought action against the directors and other concerned persons of M/s V.R.S. Ventures Private Limited.

During the preliminary inquiry, the Marine Drive Police found that the complaint was linked to the already registered ADR case. Accordingly, the complaint has been forwarded to the CID, Pune, for further necessary action.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Dr. Praveen Mundhe informed that an ADR has already been registered in connection with the plane crash and the CID is investigating the matter. As the complaint received on Wednesday pertains to the same incident, it has been transferred to the CID for further probe.

Meanwhile, police sources stated that a detailed investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the crash, and further legal action will be initiated based on the findings of the inquiry.
