MNS Leader Thanks Kunal Kamra, Shares His Satirical Song Amid Political Uproar (Watch Video)

Mumbai, Maharashtra (March 27, 2025):  Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has sparked controversy with a satirical song targeting Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Leaders and workers from the Shiv Sena’s Shinde faction have strongly opposed his act. Following Kamra’s remarks, Shiv Sena workers stormed Mumbai's Habitat Comedy Club and vandalized the studio. Despite the backlash, Kamra has continued to post new satirical songs.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Raju Patil thanked Kamra for highlighting local issues. Patil shared a video of Kamra’s act on his social media account, writing, "Thank you, Kunal Kamra, for voicing the concerns of Dombivli residents." He used hashtags such as #बिल्डरांची_मेट्रॅा #MMRDA #MSRDC #टक्केवारी #kunal_kamra" Patil’s post has gained widespread attention.

In the video, Kamra performs a parody song titled "Hum Honge Kangal Ek Din, Mann Mein Hai Andhvishwas, Desh Ka Satyanash," which translates to "We Will Be Poor One Day, There Is Blind Faith in the Heart, The Country Is Heading Towards Destruction."

Police Issue Second Summons to Kamra

Mumbai police have issued a second summons to Kamra over his parody song on Shinde. Earlier, he had requested a week’s time to appear for questioning, but police rejected his plea. The first notice was sent on Tuesday. Kamra’s lawyers sought an extension from Khar police, but their request was denied. The second summons has now been sent to his father’s residence.

Mumbai police said Wednesday that Kamra has not yet contacted them amid the ongoing controversy. Officials are investigating whether he made satirical comments about other public figures before the Shinde incident.

"We are reviewing instances where Kunal Kamra may have targeted politicians, actors, or sportspersons in the past. If found, appropriate action will be taken. Kamra has not yet come into contact with Mumbai police," officials said, as quoted by ANI.
