A major case of travel fraud has come to light from Andheri East in Mumbai, where a businessman was allegedly cheated of ₹8.24 lakh in the name of a Vietnam tour package. The victim, Pravas (49), a resident of Marol and director of Engineering company, has lodged a complaint against Sandeep Jaiswal, owner of Shri Sai Travels, accusing him of cheating and forgery.

According to the complaint, Sahu has been residing in Marol for the past six years. His family doctor, Chander, had referred him to the accused travel agent for arranging a Vietnam trip. Claiming to be close to the doctor, Jaiswal gained Pravas’s trust and offered an attractive Vietnam tour package for his family, including his wife and son.

The victim stated that he paid a total amount of ₹8.24 lakh for the Vietnam trip scheduled between December 24 and December 31, 2025. The accused had also shared hotel and flight vouchers with him, creating the impression that all bookings were confirmed. However, when the visa was not received even by mid-December, Pravas grew suspicious.

Upon contacting other travel agencies and airlines, the victim discovered that no flight or hotel bookings had been made in his name. It was then revealed that the accused had allegedly created fake digital travel vouchers to mislead him and siphon off the money.

Based on the complaint, the MIDC Police have registered a case against Sandeep Jaiswal under relevant sections for cheating and forgery. Further investigation is underway, and the police are probing whether the accused has duped other victims using a similar modus operandi.
