A shocking incident of assault took place late Wednesday night on St. Xavier’s Street in Parel, when a parking dispute turned violent. The victim, identified as Mangal Loke (49), an Assistant Vice President with a private company, sustained serious injuries in the attack.

According to police sources, the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Loke was returning from Chembur with his friend Arvind when they reached the Abdul Qadir Chambers building. Several vehicles were parked in front of the main gate, making it difficult for Surve to drive the car inside the premises.

Loke reportedly asked a few people at a nearby tea stall to move their vehicles, which they did. However, vehicles parked in front of Advocate Gunaratna Sadavarte’s office were creating an obstruction. When Loke expressed his displeasure and mentioned that the cars belonging to Sadavarte’s office were causing inconvenience, the driver and domestic staff of Sadavarte allegedly got angry and attacked him and his friend.

According to the complaint, four men assaulted Loke using a belt and wooden sticks, injuring him on the head, left ear, and near his eye. His earlobe was also torn during the assault.

Despite being injured, Loke managed to reach his flat and inform the police. The accused men reportedly continued to issue death threats from outside, shouting for him to come down. Police personnel stationed for security duty at the building soon arrived and brought the situation under control.

Loke was immediately rushed to KEM Hospital for treatment, where stitches were administered to his injured ear. Following the incident, he lodged a formal complaint at Bhoiwada Police Station.

Police officials confirmed that an FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation is currently underway.
