Mumbai Traffic Update: Heavy Jam on LBS Marg in Mulund West After Metro Pillar Collapse; Check Alternate Routes
A huge traffic jam was reported on Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg (LBS Road) on Saturday afternoon, February 14, after a major tragedy in the Mulund West area of Mumbai. According to the information, vehicular jam was reported towards the Thane-bound (northbound) stretch in the Mulund-Bhandup area near Johnson and Johnson Garden & Factory after a under construction Mumbai Metro Line 4 pillar partially collapsed.
The incident has triggered severe vehicular congestion on LBS Road as a large number of authorities, along with police and JCBs at the collapse site working to rescue trapped people under the debris. According to the information, 3 to 4 people are reportedly feared injured in the incident.

Alternate Routes
A slow traffic moment has been observed near the Johnson & Johnson factory. Commuters travelling from Ghatkopar and Vikhroli towards Mulund Check Naka or Thane are advised to divert to the Eastern Express Highway or Mulund-Goregaon Link Road to avoid the gridlock.
Mumbai Metro Line 4 Pillar Collapse
An incident occurred today at around 12:15 pm near Pier P196 of Metro Line construction works close to Mulund Fire Station, where a portion of a parapet segment fell from height and struck a passing auto rickshaw and a car, according to the statement issued by Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).
"Two individuals sustained injuries and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital. Their condition is being monitored and all necessary medical assistance is being extended," said MMRDA.
"The Metro project team is at the site and is working on relief operations and securing the site in close co-ordination with BMC and disaster management authorities," the statement further reads.
