Nagpur, Oct 20

The speed of recovery from Covid has increased in Nagpur district. On Tuesday, 583 infected patients have recovered. With this a total number of 82439 patients have recovered so far. The recovery rate has touched 90.04 per cent.

On Tuesday, 427 new positive cases were reported in the district while 13 patients died during treatment. With this, the total number of infected patients reached 91559 while 2979 patients died so far. Among the new infected 336 are from the city, 88 from rural areas and 3 from outside the district. Among the deceased, 7 are from the city, 3 from the rural areas and 3 from outside the district. On Tuesday, 583 infected people recovered. This includes 400 from the city and 183 from the rural areas.

In the last 24 hours in Nagpur district, 6775 samples were tested out of which 5659 were from the city and 1116 from the rural areas. So far, 5.74775 lakh samples have been tested in the district.

In the last 24 hours, 160 samples were tested in antigen test, 110 in private lab, 39 in AIIMS lab, 49 in GMCH lab, 35 in Mayo lab and 34 in NEERI lab.

RT-PCR test in NEERI in just 2.45 hours

Normally, RT-PCR test takes 6 to 8 hours, but at 3.30 to 4 hours at NEERI’s Covid testing center, the sample was being tested and it was a record in labs across the country. But NEERI also broke its own record on Tuesday. As many as 102 samples were tested in NEERI’s lab today. The process of conducting the investigation and issuing the report was completed in just 2.45 hours. Dr. Krishna Khairnar, head and senior scientist of NEERI''s testing center, said that the process from testing to reporting is done with complete readiness. This is why it takes so little time. It is only possible with teamwork.
