ZP to send proposal of rehabilitation of villages prone to damage by floods

Huge quantity of water is stored in Kanhan river as water is blocked in Gosekhurd national irrigation project. The floodwater after rains in rainy season and water released from Pench project caused damage to villages and farms near river on large scale. The Nagpur Zilla Parishad will be sending a proposal to State government for rehabilitation of these villages as per Rehabilitation Act.

The chairperson of agriculture committee Tapeshwar Vaidya raised this issue in the meeting of standing committee of Nagpur Zilla Parishad. The affected villages on Kanhan river bank are Kotgaon, Nandgaon, Mohkhedi, Mathni, Sukli and Singori face this problem everywhere. The president of zilla parishad Rashmi Barve ordered to send proposal of rehabilitation of these villages. Similarly, Jyoti Raut demanded that anganwadis should be given electricity connections to anganwadis through 15th Finance Commission. A resolution as also taken to give compensation to farmers for crops damaged due to rains. Dinesh Bang demanded funds for construction of commercial complex at Raipur in Hingna tehsil.
