Bomb Threat to Alwar Secretariat: Mail Claims RDX Planted at DM’s Office, Building Evacuated in Rajasthan

A bomb threat was received at the Mini Secretariat in Rajasthan's Alwar district, leading to panic in the building. The threatening mail was received in the early hours of Tuesday, April 15. The building's gates were closed, and police and the District Special Branch (DSB) are investigating.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) reached the spot and deployed the police force at the premises of the Mini Secretariat building for thorough checking. According to the ADC Bina Mahawar, the threat mail was received at around 3.42 am, stating RDX has been placed at the District Magistrate’s office.

"At 3:42 AM, a mail was received on the ‘collected mail’ account stating that RDX had been installed at the District Magistrate’s office. After receiving this information, both the police and administration immediately evacuated the Collectorate office," said Mahawar reported the news agency IANS.

The gates were closed after evacuating staff from the building. "A manual search of the premises has been conducted. The bomb squad from Jaipur has already been dispatched and will carry out a full investigation upon arrival," she added.

Earlier, on April 3,  the Jaipur collectorate had received a bomb threat. The Anti Terrorist Squad and Bomb Squad teams reached the spot. No suspicious object was found in the search operation. The e-mail was sent at 7:58 am; after that, the premises were sealed.

The e-mail, addressed to the Collector and employees, read, "On this holy day, the Jaipur Collector's office will be the target of a fierce oxidized IED based pipe bomb blast. It is a reminder of the ill-treatment of Savukku Shankar in the 2G case and the custodial death of Sadiq Balwa. We challenge the authorities to carry out a rescue operation to protect themselves."
