Amidst the growing coronavirus outbreak in the country the commercial street and adjoining areas of Bengaluru will be shut down from March 20th to March 22nd. The decesion was taken in order to curb the spread of the virus in the state. Almost all the major states in India have announced a lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. The number of cases in the country has risen to 275 with 5 deaths reported so far. The Association also announced that the decision to extend the lockdown will be decided after assesing the situation post 24th. 

Karnataka government on Friday ordered the closure of all bars and pubs in Bengaluru till March 31  Meanwhile, the Bengaluru metro has announced that its services will remain suspended on March 22, Sunday in wake of Janata Curfew announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address to the nation on Thursday. In his address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi requested the countrymen to stay indoors as much as possible. He has also urged the nation to observe a 14-hour-long Janata Curfew between 7 am and 9 pm on Sunday.
