Delhi Fire: Massive Blaze at Narela Scrap Yard Triggers Explosion-Like Panic, No Casualties Reported

A massive fire broke out late Saturday night in an empty plot storing scrap material in the Pana Paposia area of Narela in Delhi. While the blaze caused significant damage to property and nearby belongings, no casualties have been reported so far.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred around 11:30 PM, startling residents in the vicinity. “We were about to go to sleep when we heard a loud noise. I asked my son to step outside and check as it sounded very unusual,” said a local resident.

The plot reportedly contained plastic and other scrap materials, which quickly fueled the flames. Several people associated with the scrap business were known to use the space for storage and occasional stay.

Another eyewitness described the intensity of the blaze, saying it resembled a cylinder explosion. “The fire broke out with such force that it sounded like a blast. Within moments, flames spread rapidly. We rushed outside immediately,” the resident said.

The fire’s intensity was such that nearby vehicles were engulfed, and even a water tank installed above a house in the area caught fire. The sudden spread created panic among locals, though prompt action helped prevent any loss of life.

Firefighting teams were deployed to the scene and managed to bring the situation under control after sustained efforts. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and further investigation is underway
